I bought a camera. A new one.

It's awesome. I'm going to be a photographer!

I've started driving on the right-hand side of the
road to psyche myself up for America.

It's not the brightest idea I've had, but dodging
oncoming traffic means I'll be well prepared for
when I come across Lyndsay Lohan driving the wrong
way down the freeway.

I went to the doctors today and I have to go back
again this afternoon for blood tests. I've never
had one before and I'm a bit scared! What if they
burst my vein.

Christ.

In three weeks I'll be here:

Los Angeles! I have no idea what happens when I
get there. I'm meeting Will at the airport. His
flight gets in like 5 hours before mine. Then
what? I have no idea. I have no hostel booked.
Nor any immediate plan. All I know is I wanna have
bought an RV and be out of California by the end
of February. We shall see.

Finding a vehicle is meant to be the easy part.
Insuring it is going to be the problem. The
rules are, you need a permanent address to
register and insure a car in America.

Obviously this is something we don't have, although
Will seems sure we can use his friends address.
The other issue is that Will doesn't drive.
The initial problem with this is that our insurance
will be sky high because I'm both under 25 and a
foreigner.

Long term, it also means I'm going to be doing
A LOT of driving if we do what we want to do,
and drive all the way to New York/Boston and
even possibly into Canada, and then all
the way back and into Mexico.

It's pretty much impossible to make any definite
plans, seeing as a lot depends on how long Will
and I can tolerate each other. At minimum, I'll
be away three months. Potentially, it could be
well over a year.

I'd rather not come back in the winter again though.
That really sucked.

I've got a bunch of stuff to do before I go. But most
of it can wait til the day before I leave, as usual.

I'm excited! I hope I get to see a celeb. I want to
touch one. I might try and develop an unhealthy
obsession with one before I leave.

I'm thinking Emile Hirsch. He'll be so flattered he'll
marry me.

I leave in 25 days, so I bought some shoes and a hat to
celebrate. I do have other reasons to celebrate, but
I'm not allowed to tell!

In other news, no one actually knows the web address
of this yet. It's like a secret, only one that nobody
really cares about knowing. I'm enjoying talking to
myself though.

I did a bunch of driving today, which achieved nothing
but an empty tank and some yoghurts (yogurts). Plus I
ran out of windscreen wash and I had to ruin my gloves
so I could see again. Sacrifices.

Other things that happened recently are:
  • I cut myself a fringe again,
  • I got really drunk a few times,
  • Me and Kirsten may or may not be in a music video,
  • I tidied my room, then messied it back up,
  • Tony Hart died,
  • I still can't juggle
Erm,

That's it.

Oh yeah, I read Ender's Game.
It was okay. Good old Ender.

I also learnt America's 5 great lakes.
Super man helps every one!
I swear to God I'll be cleverer than you one day Will!

That's it.

Numero uno

Hi fans!

So this is my first PROPER blog entry. I'm excited!

The last one was an experiment, because I was
chuffing around with the html. I mention this because
I feel it's a pretty strong indication of my high
intelligence. (Actually it took me about 3 hours to
change some numbers to push the margins over and
make room for my rather special looking map
background (Which I made myself!), but it makes
me feel pretty fricking superior.)

Anyway, this whole blog is some kind of experiment
really, because I actually hate blogs and all they stand
for, i.e. spreading your self-centered, egotistical
bullshit for all to see and no one to actually read.

Plus the fact I have to hand-write everything first
because I can't think and type at the same time.

So I imagine this is going to become a bit of a chore,
and I might give in after a day or so.

But it doesn't matter really, seeing as just because
something hasn't appeared on the internet, doesn't,
contrary to popular belief, mean it hasn't actually
happened.

I bet my punctuation is a bit of an effort to read.
I like commas. But I bet you anything they're
all right; I have an English degree don't you know!
(The egotistical bullshit starts here)

(I don't have a spell checker though. So there's
bound to be mistakes. (I don't even mean in the
typo-sense either; I actually can't spell anymore.
(I once got 99/100 in a spelling bee at junior school,
but it's honestly been downhill from there.)))

(I quite like brackets too.)

Are you losing concentration? I sure am.

Anyway (I like starting paragraphs with 'anyway', too),
just to set one thing clear, this isn't going to be a
retort in any way. (My name appears in TWO blogs
(as far as I know); in one I am loved: the other, hated.
It's like Heat magazine for scummers.)

I'm a grown-up now, and there is a time and place for
sharing such things. The internet isn't one of them.

Actions speak louder than words.

I win.

Instead, this blog is a 'to mum and dad' type jobby,
for when I'm off galavanting across America.

Starting Friday 13th February, 2009!

Coming?

Wooooooo

Today I started a blog. Too bad I have nothing to write about.
Although my background is pretty snazzy.
